Summer Learning Support for Parents
Parents can support their children's summer learning through five key activities: (1) Read to children or encourage reading via library summer programs; (2) Visit free local learning resources like parks, museums, and recreation centers; (3) Play math and word games (e.g., grocery store math, billboard spotting); (4) Ask teachers for grade-appropriate online educational activities; (5) Limit screen time and encourage physical activity. Maintaining a structured daily schedule (bedtime, wake-up time, snack time, reading time, TV/screen time, chore time, outdoor/creative play) supports children's physical, academic, and emotional health during summer break.
