Limiting Early Pick-Ups
Families are asked to limit early pick-ups whenever possible, as leaving school before the end of the day interrupts the learning environment and causes students to miss important instruction. Protecting the full school day helps students stay engaged and successful.

District-wide event hosted at Folwell Elementary School. Saturday, October 17th, 2-5pm. Activities include hay ride, food trucks, 50/50, spiderweb walk, music, and more. Candy donations needed by Friday, October 16th. Registration required by Wednesday, October 14th.

Dragons of the Week
A new student recognition program launched to celebrate students who consistently demonstrate SOAR values: S – Be Safe, O – Be on Task, A – Be Accountable, and R – Be Respectful. Staff nominate students who model these positive behaviors throughout the week. The program aims to highlight those who go above and beyond in making the school a safe, productive, and respectful community.

Spellbound Century Giving Corp Donation
Spellbound Century Giving Corp generously donated $16,000 to the John Brainerd PTA. Funds will help provide a new swing set for preschool through first-grade students.

Updated Flu Vaccine Requirements for Preschool
The state of New Jersey has updated vaccine requirements. Flu shots are required by November 30, 2026, for all children 6 months and older enrolled in a preschool program. Preschool students who have not submitted documentation of their influenza vaccine by November 30th may not return to school starting December 1st until vaccine documentation is provided. The Burlington County Health Department has several vaccine clinics scheduled.

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
New drop-off lane procedure has been implemented for arrivals. Doors open at 8:25 AM and school starts at 8:30 AM. Early dismissals are not permitted after 3:00 PM, and no students will be dismissed between 3:00 PM - 3:15 PM. The school is seeking parent feedback on dismissal procedures.
