October 2026 newsletter from Principal Barb Fazekas. Features a month of kindness and respect themed days, Walk to School Day on Oct 7, Track & Treat on Oct 23, Preschool/Kindergarten Open House on Oct 24, a Book Fair Oct 1-2, and no-school days Oct 9 and Oct 12. School photo retake day is November 9. The Roebling PTO shares its September recap, PTO meeting dates for the school year (first listed as September 16, next October 14), and the Sept meeting notes. Upcoming: a Dine to Donate breakfast at Vinny G's on Friday, October 9 (20% back to school), and the My Little Pumpkin stress toy fundraiser ($2, order due October 23, delivered the Friday before Halloween). The Roebling PTO is running a membership contest (sign up by November 1st; the class with the highest membership percentage wins a pizza party) and has posted its membership form and officer list. Senator Troy Singleton's Jump Into Reading Challenge runs October 5 to November 13 for 1st-4th graders, with a family bowling prize for top readers. Before and after care (EMP/EDP) begins Friday, September 4th, and the district's new website and app replace Dojo. This block of the Roebling Elementary newsletter highlights the monthly Golden Apple staff recognition program, with a nomination form for any staff member demonstrating above-and-beyond service. It also provides a set of useful links (Genesis portal, school website, handbook, lunch menu, EMP/EDP, events calendar, spiritwear store) and the school's contact information.

Golden Apple Staff Recognition
One staff member is chosen each month as the Golden Apple. Open to any teacher, IA, contracted provider, custodian, or administrator demonstrating above-and-beyond work: inspiring a love of learning, encouraging critical thinking, setting high standards, meeting diverse student needs, involving families, and promoting positive behavior. Nominate via the form.

Jump Into Reading Challenge
Senator Troy Singleton's 7th District reading challenge for 1st-4th graders. Read as many books as possible. Top readers in each school receive an award and a gift certificate for a family bowling experience at Laurel Lanes. Information goes home with your child and should be returned to school by November 13th. Talk to your teacher for details.

New Florence Township Schools website and app
The district launched a new website (www.florence.k12.nj.us) and mobile app, Florence Township Schools, on Apple App Store and Google Play. This replaces Dojo.
