The School Counseling Connection provides resources for parents to support friendship skills at home, including recommended books (Be a Friend by Salina Yoon, Better Together by Chloe Douglass, My Best Friend, Sometimes by Naomi Danis, One by Kathryn Otoshi, Better Than You by Trudy Ludwig) and tips for handling social conflict: pause and cool down, use 'I' statements, listen actively, brainstorm fair solutions, and ask a trusted adult for help if needed.
