Free and Reduced Lunch Applications
Important reminders about Free and Reduced Lunch Applications: Only one application per household. List all students attending school through the 12th grade via the online application or a paper application made available at your child's school. If your family has a change of income status during the school year, you may complete an application at any time. If your child received free or reduced meals last school year, an application must be filled out every year if your child still qualifies. If an application is not received by October 15th and your child currently receives benefits, your child's status will change to full pay breakfast and lunch. Contact Alisha Wilson at 856-429-5600 x4348 for questions.

Morning Drop-Off Safety Reminder
During morning drop-off, students should remain on the sidewalk and walk toward the crossing guard before crossing. Students should not cross at the intersection or cut through the parking lot to reach student entrances. Staff members are not stationed at the parking lot exit during arrival, and school buses are actively entering and exiting the lot at that time.

Why Doing Your Best Matters
Educational guidance for families on supporting student learning through effort and practice. Families can support learning at home by noticing specific effort, asking about the process, making time for short regular practice, and sharing their own challenges. Research shows that praising children's effort and strategies and helping them see setbacks as chances to try a different approach is effective.

Patriot Day Observance
Today marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. On Patriot Day, we remember the lives that were lost and honor the bravery of the first responders, service members, and everyday citizens who helped others during this difficult time. As a school community, we reflect on the importance of kindness, courage, unity, and service to others.

Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur
Rosh Hashanah celebrates the Jewish New Year and is a time for reflection, hope, and new beginnings. Families may attend religious services, enjoy special meals, and eat apples dipped in honey to represent wishes for a sweet new year. Yom Kippur, also known as the Day of Atonement, is a time for prayer, reflection, and forgiveness. The school community wishes all members who observe these holidays a happy Rosh Hashanah and a meaningful Yom Kippur.

Understanding Bullying vs. Normal Conflict
Bullying is unfair, one-sided, and involves an imbalance of power (social, intellectual, physical, etc.) where one person intentionally hurts another emotionally or physically. Normal conflict is mutual, involves disagreements and arguments, and has no power imbalance. About 99% of mean behavior results from normal conflict, not bullying. Under N.J. anti-bullying law, negative actions (harassment, intimidation, bullying) based on protected characteristics (race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, etc.) are prohibited if they cause substantial disruption to school operations. Parents should describe specific behaviors rather than characterize them when reporting concerns. Contact the classroom teacher, principal, or school counselor with concerns.

After-school care (SACC)
- Kid won't be at PM SACC today?Report it by 3:00 PM. Telling the teacher or school office does not count - SACC doesn't cross-check. Report a PM absence · SACC office 856-429-6564 ext. 1
- Someone else picking up?PM SACC absences must be reported by 3:00 PM the same day (QR code / online form, or call the SACC Office at 856-429-6564 ext. 1) - SACC does NOT cross-reference with the school, so a note or call to the school/teacher alone will NOT stop your child from being dismissed to SACC. AM SACC absences don't need to be reported. To change who is authorized to pick up your child, notify the SACC Office in writing (names of adults permitted to pick up, address/phone changes, etc.) - this can't be done verbally at pickup time.
- Running late?A $15.00 late fee is charged per child for each 15 minutes (or part thereof) after the 6:00 PM PM SACC closing time. If a child isn't picked up by closing time, staff first contact the parent-authorized pickup persons. 30 minutes after closing, if no authorized adult can be reached, staff call the DCP&P 24-Hour Child Abuse Hotline or Cherry Hill Police.
- Delays & early dismissalsOn a 2-hour delayed school opening, AM SACC is delayed 2 hours too; PM SACC hours are unaffected. On district early-dismissal days, SACC normally still runs but starts at 1:00 PM instead of after regular dismissal - except a separate list of early-dismissal days when PM SACC is closed entirely (dates change yearly - see the SACC Family Handbook for the current list). If SACC is cancelled for weather or an unforeseen district closure, no credit, refund, or schedule change is given.

Buses & transportation
District pageTransportation office(856) 489-5851
Hours7:00 am - 4:30 pm daily
- Bus running late?Call the transportation office (7:00 am - 4:30 pm daily). When notified in advance, the Transportation Department will attempt to send an automated message for individual route delays of 20 minutes or more. As a friendly reminder, please be sure your contact information in Genesis is up to date for best service.
- Late bus after activitiesLate buses only run for the middle and high schools; there is no late bus at this school.
- Need a different stop for today?Permission to change buses, or bus stop, will be granted in cases of EMERGENCY ONLY. Students must ride on their assigned bus as well as get off the bus at their assigned stop. We will do our best to accommodate EMERGENCY situations that might require your child changing buses or pick-up and drop-off points for the current day. Requests to change bus stops must be sent to the principal in writing prior to 11:30am. The principal must approve any change in drop-off by signing the note. Upon approval, your request will be sent to the CHPS Transportation Department and the driver will be notified.
- Changing your regular bus stopValid bus stop change requests for existing bus stop locations will only be accepted until October 31st for the current school year. Following that date, only new move-in stops or extreme emergency changes will be considered. Bus stops must be consistent for time efficiency, student safety and driver's knowledge of route, especially substitutes. Bus stop change request form
- Left something on the bus?The CHPS Transportation Department's procedure is to have your student's driver hold on to anything found on the bus for 3 days before turning it over to the bus contractors’ office. Neither Cherry Hill Public Schools or our bus contractors are responsible for missing or damaged items. Lost items

Supporting Every Learner Through MTSS
The Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is a framework that helps schools identify students' individual needs and provide the appropriate level of academic, behavioral, or social-emotional support. Through regular progress monitoring and collaboration among teachers and support staff, interventions are adjusted to help each student succeed. Students who had targeted goals last school year will continue to receive support from their current classroom teacher.
