The October 12, 2026 Weekly Update covers picture retakes on October 13, an ongoing Socktober sock drive, an early dismissal on October 14 for staff professional development (dismissal 11:40 am, no lunch), the first LMS/LHS PTO meeting on October 13 at 7:00 in the LHS Media Center, and Beetlejuice Jr. school musical applications due October 15. Beetlejuice Jr. is this year's musical (performances March 5-7, 2027); cast and crew applications are due October 15. The school held an IROC2 Digital Safety Assembly on October 8 and celebrated the Week of Respect and Be A Cardinal Day (75th anniversary) on October 9. Fall sports photos are October 20, the first Science Bowl meeting moved to October 21, and the yearbook cover contest is due November 9. Spirit Week runs October 26-30 with daily themes, culminating in the LMSween party on October 29. The PTO seeks chaperones for the party, the school store is holding a fall T-shirt clean-out, winter sports registration is due November 6, and yearbook orders and photo sharing are open (yearbook order promo ends October 19). The LMS/LHS PTO is hosting a Craft Fair on Saturday, November 21st from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Lawrence High School Cafeteria, with vendor booths and food trucks.
